A: China has closely followed the situation in the Darfur region, supported the international efforts to push forward the political process and the mediation of the special envoys of the UN and AU, hoping for an early comprehensive peace agreement among relevant parties. On March 28, the Chinese Permanent Mission to the UN, on behalf of the Chinese Government, donated US$500,000 to the UN trust fund for the Darfur political process which provides financial support for the mediation of the two special envoys. China will continue to play a constructive role in promoting a proper resolution of the Darfur issue.
